I have talked to many F1 fans. Older fans that remember Senna in his racing days and younger fans that grew up with the stories. A lot of his fans asked me to create an artwork in remembrance of Senna. It took me a while before I felt ready to create something in his honour. He is so much of an icon, I really wanted to do his legacy justice. He was much more than ‘the best racing driver’ and he inspired so many people in so many ways.

That is why I poured a lot of work into painting this portrait of Senna and in the end I am very happy with how it turned out. It depicts Senna and his McLaren MP4/8 in 1993 waving the Brazilian flag after victory.
